Bruce Swilley had a longing to help the people of his state and community

Bruce Swilley acted as a first responder after Hurricane Katrina swept through Louisiana and left destruction in its wake. He had a longing to help the people of his state and community and he did what was in his power to help speed the recovery. Bruce Swilley’s contribution was to transoport, repair, and operate heavy construction equipment in the aftermath of the storm, working tirelessly to ensure the job got done quickly and safely but efficiently. He attended school in Louisiana, graduating from Pope John Paul II High School in Slidell, Louisiana, in 2005. He served as a CCD 4th grade teacher for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux, Mississippi, from 2005 until 2006. In 2007, he competed in the Mud Nationals in Texas, which is a national ATV riding competition. Bruce Swilley is also happy to be involved with a local charity in Slidell, Louisiana, Slidell Ladies for Liberty, which was founded in order to ensure that every member of the armed services knew that they were appreciated. Swilley has a heart for charity and has participated in a number of charitable events over the years in order to help out as he could.
